Each year the Ontario Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society presents both a student and non-student with an A.D. Latornell Award of Merit. Winners of this award receive a full year membership to SWCS, $600 and sponsorship to attend one day at the A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium and the Banquet at which the award is presented.
Those applying in the student category must meet the following criteria:
Enrolled in a recognized Ontario college or university;
Possess a high degree of interest and ability in the area of soils and water management;
Hold Canadian citizenship; and
Maintain a good academic standing.
Those applying in the non-student category must be:
An individual or community group representative active in conservation and resource management;
Knowledgeable and adept at addressing various soils and water management issues; and
A Canadian Citizen.
